Diamond & CBN honing stone :

The dimension of the honing stone depends on the design of the honing holder / mandrel. In particular, the height of the abrasive layer is defined by the I possible infeed path of the holder. For the sake of clarity, some type of honing stones are given as below :

Standard honing stone

Honing stones having abrasive layer on steel base. Honing stone is soldered on honing shoe / carrier.

Slotted standard honing stone

Same as standard honing stone but with a slot longitudinally for better cutting, cooling and chip removal.

Solid honing stone

This stone consists only the abrasive (No steel base) and is also soldered on the honing shoe / carrier or holder segment.

Compact honing stone

Honing stones for direct fitting into the body of the honing holder. This type of stone is generally used for very small bore honing.

These are useful for mainly cast iron applications, super finishing cases, carbide honing, S.G. Iron and other alloy applications & non ferrous products.

ABRASIVE HONING STICKS

Abrasive Honing Sticks are made in white Aluminium Oxide, Green Silicon Carbide, Pink Aluminium Oxide & Blue Aluminium Oxide.

We also provide radius & champher on request.
Aluminium Oxide stones are available in White / Brown suitable for ductile materials. Red / Pink are suitable for tough alloy steels.
Black Aluminium Oxide is suitable for low tensile materials.

Green Silicon Carbide stones are recommended for tough centrifugally cast iron and Alloy materials.
Results are faster cutting rate of material and less dressing required. These grains are more fragile and give a better finish to the component.

Black Silicon Carbide is the toughest and strongest grain of all. These are recommended for rough operations where more material removal is required. These grains can work even under high pressures of 28 Kg / cm2. while honing.

Mixed Abrasive Grains are used for special purpose where particular Rz and Rmax values are required.
Applications are for:
* Cylinder Liners of Tractors.
* Connecting Rods.
* Rocker Arms.

Honing Stones have a grit range of;
46 (Very Coarse) - 60 - 80 (Coarse) - 180 - 320 (Medium) - 500 -800 (Finish) - 1200 - 1700 (Mirror Finish).
Hardness ranges from:
G (Very Soft) - H - I - J (Medium) - K - L - M - N - O - P (Hard).
Hardness of the honing stones are recommended by the manufacturer after studying the hardness of the component

CUBIC BORON NITRIDE (CBN)
